WATER POLO Our Water Polo athletes made a big splash last weekend. The U/14A Team competed in the Jason Murray Tournament in East London where they finished fifth after beating arch rivals Pearson. Indeed, it is sink or swim. Similarly, in Knysna to admire the views (and play water polo), the Second Team participated in the Oakhill Chakka Festival and concluded the event with satisfying results. Making ripples closer to home, all other Water Polo teams took part in the Derby at Alexander Road High where they demonstrated tactic and skill against DSG (Makhanda). The Water Polo athletes are immensely grateful to Mr Beynon, Ms Monaghan, Ms Ashby and Ms Reynolds who, with the coaches, take a concerted interest in their sportsmanship.

SWIMMING The swimmers made a bigger splash at the Infinity Gala where Jenna Coetzee and Tiara Finnis saw the day out with accomplishments. Not only did Tiara represent the school, but she participated in the Open Water EC Championship. The two swimmers garnered several podium positions for most of their events.

TENNIS On terra firma, tennis served decisively, but, in the end, returned with the love of the sport still close to their hearts. The First Team Tennis is commended for applying their efforts skilfully to win against Nico Malan. The Second, Fifth and Sixth teams were met with difficult competition. There are several matches scheduled for this week for which we anticipate some fine tennis.
