Sport
Collegiate Girls’ High has a proud culture of sports participation and sporting excellence, with a comprehensive and successful sporting programme covering many sporting options.
Collegiate believes that participation in sport encourages a healthy environment and contributes to the overall school experience for learners. Each season, various choices will be presented to learners, and each learner from Grades 8 to 10 must select at least one summer and one winter sport. Participation in sport is recommended for Grade 11 and 12s, but is not compulsory. Attendance at all practices and matches is compulsory, and pupils are expected to be available for sporting events on weekends.
Collegiate believes that sport provides learners with a platform to develop physically through training and to practise life lessons and interpersonal skills – all of which contribute to a more holistic education that will benefit learners in the long run.

Message from Head of Sport – Mrs Posthumus
I believe that there is a team for every learner at Collegiate – from the serious athletes/players to the social butterflies who just want to be part of the fun.
Collegiate is proud of the quality and professionalism of its coaches and sport managers, who have a united vision to enhance the ability and sportsmanship of each sportswoman at the school, while maintaining a positive programme through which learners love to play the game and look forward to practices and matches.
Our sporting programme offers learners a comfortable space to excel in their own way and, most importantly, to have fun along the way.
The Sports Department at Collegiate is underpinned by the philosophy that each player should strive to be the best version of herself on and off the field.
