WATERPOLO

U14A Waterpolo competed at Dave Pitcairn tournament held at Reddam Constantia two weekends ago.

  • We topped our pool which made us advance to semi finals

The Collegiate u15A Water Polo team participated in the Shaun Fuchs Water Polo Tournament hosted by Crawford International College Lonehill this weekend in Johannesburg. Team ended 16 out of 24 teams.

The First Water Polo team travelled to play in the annual Old Petrians’ tournament hosted by St Peter’s College. This was also the last tournament for six of our Matric learners who have been an integral part of the team. We are grateful for their commitment and passion to the team. The team ended 15th out of 28 teams.

As part of Grey High School’s Open Day friendly match against Middelburg school, Collegiate joined in on the fun. Some of our Second team players played against Middelburg High School's girls’ team and came out victorious. Everyone won their matches. Well done to Collegiate!

THE GENTS OF THE GREY AT COLLEGIATE FOR A DAY

Three members of the Gents of The Grey visited our classes today to experience girls' schooling. They will be writing an article for Grey Matters. They proudly handed over their Consumer Studies pancakes to Mrs Erasmus.

ROMEO AND JULIET

Collegiate is proud to announce the staging of "Romeo and Juliet" on 25 and 26 March in the Stevenson Hall. Learners from Grey High School are participating in various roles. Ticket sales open on Monday, 3 March, at R50/70/90 each via a Quicket link.

EAST CAPE ARTISTIC SWIMMING CHAMPIONSHIPS

the Artistic Swimming girls travelled to East London to compete in the East Cape Schools Synchro Challenge at StIrling High School. We did exceptionally well and our thanks go to our long-time coach Mrs Norden for helping the girls to achieve these amazing results.The results are as follows:

For Level 1 figures Abigail Horowitz placed second followed closely by Gemma Blochlinger in 3rd place.

For Level 2 figures in the 13-15 age category Shiloh Walsh placed first and together for their duet routine Shiloh and Hannah Charedzera placed second.

For Level 2 figures in the 15 and over age category Shanna du Plessis placed first followed by Jordyn-Leigh Roman in second place. They both also placed first for their duet routine in the level 2 category.

It was a very excited and proud moment for all the artistic swimmers when they were announced as the overall high school winners. Everyone’s participation in the competition allowed us to win first place. Well done, girls, on this wonderful achievement.

SACEE SPELLING BEE

Four of our learners bravely participated in the SACEE Spelling Bee at Framesby High School. They were given long lists of long words to learn!

Chelsea Waller and Holly Tudhope took part in the junior section, while Jade van Tonder and Jennifer de Kock took part in the senior section. Owing to a series of unfortunate and fortunate events, Jade and Jennifer have been pushed through to the final round taking place in the fourth term. We are especially proud of Holly for coming third in her group and qualifying to participate in the final round in the fourth term.

NETBALL

Collegiate's netball has been off to a good start by winning 15 out of their 19 matches at Despatch High School's annual pre-season Skommeltoernooi.

This friendly tournament gives the coaches a chance to trial & test out our players' abilities.
